AFR 195 Eliminators and small pop ups?

Has anyone used the AFR 195 Eliminators with the older style L79 pop up piston that is only like a small 1/8 inch dome. with a 65 cc head it should be around 10.5:1 compression with the full out formula. Ill include a pictre of the piston. Its not a big dome at all. I just didnt know with the new designed chambers if there might be an issue. Right now with double humps that have been shaved down to about 62 cc I have no issues at all with them. I am looking to update my heads with a bigger cam also. Thanks for any info or advice!

Re: AFR 195 Eliminators and small pop ups?

Give the AFR people a call. They should be able to tell you right off the bat.

I have the same pistons and did a head swap (not AFR) to the newer chamber design with no problems. If they are actual Vortec style chambers they may not work though.

Here's what the chamber looks like on the heads I just put on.

Here's a Vortec chamber.

The 'point' on the quench surface extends farther into the chamber and may interfere with the dome.
