Looking For 1 on 1 help from someone on Rebuilding my 327

I am 24 years old. I have been restoring a 68 camaro on and off for the past 3-4 years in what ever spare time I can find. I would really like to start on my engine this summer and this is the 1st time I have undertook the process of a complete rebuild. I have done engine swaps, cam swaps, and other things like that so im not illiterate just unsure of a few things and would like to find someone that can walk me through the process of picking parts and installing them.

Thanks

Eric

Eric, I (and I'm sure MANY other on the board) would love to help in any way we can.
An "onsite visit and inspection" would probably be very helpful when deciding what to buy and what machine shop services are needed.

How about updating your userCP so we know what city / state you're in, maybe there's someone close with a free Saturday?

Also, pick up a copy of David Vizard's book "How to Overhaul Small block Chevy Engines". You might even check out your public library, they could very well have a copy you can read. He breaks it down into very simple steps. If you have already done a cam swap, I would think an engine rebuild is well within your capabilities. Just pay attention to the details.

Thanks for the responces guys. I'm in Iowa. I do have the rebuilding sbc book. Its just the little things that i will need help with. Once i get the okay from my wife I will be taking the block in for machinging. Here in the midwest we have alot of local race tracks plus im 9 miles from a drag strip and 30 miles from knoxville raceway. So there are alot of machine shops and many of them do good work from what im told. I know after its machines I will have alot more deals for you. I will post in this thread as i need further help. Thanks for the support so far. It will help alot to know that i have personal help if I need it.
