Re: Edlebrock Accelerator Pump?

hmmmm..... acelerator pumps can be "interesting"

They've all got a spring involved, ede, q-jet, holley, all of them.

The position of the rod on the lever (or the pump cam on a holley) controls how "quickly" the linkage pushes against the spring when the throttle is moved.

So the inner hole (which gives more leverage) will try to give a quicker stroke of the pump.

The actual fuel flow though, is a fight between the strength of the spring and the size of the orifice (pump squirter)

If you need more fuel, the best way is a larger squirter.

When I played with my ede, I found that the outer hole worked better cause it extended the shot thru when the secondaries were opening, ands helped cover a bog there.

Re: Edlebrock Accelerator Pump?

On my Thunder Series 650, I have mine in the upper most hole. That is where I get the most fuel squirt. It was the same when I had the 1406 Performer Series. I believe all Edelbrocks are the same as far as the accel pump lever is concerned.

Re: Edlebrock Accelerator Pump?

A brand new, out of the box #1407 will have the rod in the top hole, for maximum fuel shot.
