Arrow hey guys look what I found....

I found a complete, untouched, never rebuilt, 80K, roller motor from an 88 Caprice.

Dont ask me what I paid for it. cough, ($100), cough

So, If I can come up with some money, Im thinkin a 10.5:1, 383 with 6"rods, 64cc- 200cfm heads, cam around 236-245DUR, .510-.525 lift on a 109 LSA. Ill have to find the heads. Unless you guys think my dbl humps would work. They flow good. Im just broke. block needs nothing at this point. maybe a good cleaning and a hone. Are the heads any good=14101083?
I could sell my motorcycle for around 6K....? to support it...? My CC is getting limp.

Think that will make some good power?
Any better ideas?

Re: hey guys look what I found....

Did 88 have roller cams?
100 bux for an engine is cool. Those old Caprices would run forever. I like the build plan.

Re: hey guys look what I found....

Where I been? I've been everywhere as usual. Hell I even had to go do a job down south of N'orleans. Brought this guy back with me, he was a Katrina survivor and the guys at the gas plant I helped out gave him to me. Title of your thread "look what I found"....Check it out...wolf spider. Brought his butt 900 miles back to Oklahoma hangin on to buckets and torches and stuff in the back of my truck... he sure got some looks. His legs are made of steel that is almost as tough to bend as a bucket handle. They said he'd washed up in the flood. I figger he was a Mardi Gras critter.

Re: hey guys look what I found....

49cc heads and 18cc dish gives 11.1 on a 4.030 by 3 3/4
64 cc heads gets 9.5

The 9.5 would take the 218/228 .525/.525 with 1.6ers 'hot' cam. The 11ish would want more duration. You know how I feel about the hot cam.

Re: hey guys look what I found....

Not a bad deal for $100. I'd probably go with 64CC heads, flattops, and 0.015" gaskets to get better squish/turbulence.

Hot cam would be good, 400 HP, but aren't Hot cams for the LT-1? Educate me.

LT4, whatever that means but you can use it in any roller sbc. My zz4 has one.

Re: hey guys look what I found....

The vast majority of those cars came with roller 305's...better make sure of what you've got before you start spending $$$'s.
