Cam recommendation 327

I have a 331 with speed pro forged dome pistons. The dome is a small 1/8 inch dome 5.3 is the volume. I just got a set of afr 195 eliminator heads for it that flow awsome they have 65cc chambers with 2.05 1.60 valves. They recommend the fel pro 1003 gasket. I am looking around 10.3 compression. I have a rpm intake with a one inch HVH super sucker spacer and I am going to go either with a 650 dp that I have now or a 750 double pumper not sure what I want to do yet. I plan on running a solid flat tappet. Any ideas on a good one? I heard comp cams is having some quality issues right now. Its in a 66 nova that weighs 3k with a tremec tko 600 and 5.13's with a 28 inch tall tire. Looking to shift around 7200-7300. I dont care about how smooth it runs on the street ill sacrafice any comfortness on the street just so when I mash it, it has the most power it can get.

Re: Cam recommendation 327

Use the 650 a 750 is just overkill on a 327. On Desktop dyno's I really like the Comp Cams 30-30+. I also like some of the Engle solid cams maybe the EP-25. Also the Crower Cams. Or the good ole 282S from Comp.

I think you should be up around 11 to 1 so I'd install an old Isky Z-30 solid lifter cam and I guarantee it will go above 8,000 w/ Isky's recommended valve springs and it will still be pulling at 7,000 rpm if you intake and exhaust it right!

Been there, road in my long gone Crippled Buddy's '58 'Vette rag-top w/ a Z-30 cammed 375hp/327 FI, 4-speed and 3.08's w/ the 2.5" dumps straight down from his 2.5" ramshorns uncorked to the tune of 7,200 rpm at 160 to 170 mph one late Sat. night evening back in say, '64 or so!!
