oil sending unit question

I just installed the console guages for my 327 67RS, the car came with them but weren't there when I bought it. My question is: where does the oil sending unit for the mechanical guage to the cluster go on the block, I can't seem to find any fitting? I see where the electrical sending unit is near the distributor and there is also some kind of sending unit on the right side of the block near the manifold. This shouldn't be that hard but I need some guidance, thanks.

Re: oil sending unit question

The oil pressure line fitting should screw into the block near the distributor. I will see if I can find a pic here.

I know where that is, but do I have to remove the electrical unit and replace it with the mechanical fitting or is there a separate location?

Re: oil sending unit question

Yes, remove it if you'd like it to be correct. Gauge cars did not have an oil light.

If you like the light (I do, that big red light is MUCH more visible than a gauge should a sudden failure occur!) you can use hardware store 1/8" pipe fittings to Tee them both in.
