Angry Engine stall

I have 2 issues,

68 Camaro 350 400 HP crate engine new.
350 turbo TCI trans, if in 3rd gear and nail it has big flat spot . If I shift by hand and keep the rpm up all is good. Stall is 2400.

Second issue after long drives engine will stall at idle. Carb is proform 750 changed fuel pump did not fix problem. only after long drive so seems to be heat issue, engine runs great and pulls hard just seems to be idle problem.

Re: Engine stall

You might try going to a larger squirter on your carb, sounds like it's getting plenty of air but not enough fuel during transition. Larger squirters will help this. On the idle problem I've run into this a lot too with some carbs, have to idle them up high when they are hot but then it is too high of an idle when the engine is cold. Sounds like your carb needs a good overhaul to me. Check for vacuum leaks etc., old hoses with cracks etc. If all else fails throw the proform in the trash and drop a $500 bill on a new Holley!

Re: Engine stall

Thanks, did try the larger squirter. Everything on this car is new just finished the complete restortaion. I did have a holly on it before this and thought it was the problem, but same thing. for the flat spot do you think the stall is to low at 2400. For the heat idle issue do you think the HEI distributor could get warm and cause this?
