Flowmaster exhaust hangers

Well after several weeks of going back and forth on an exhaust system, I broke down and bought Flowmaster 17129 kit from summit. Now, I have no idea how the rear hangers go on the frame. Can someone with this kit please post up some pictures of where the rear hangers go. I know the instructions mention two holes in the frame, but the brackets they sent me do not line up with the holes.

Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!

i think that is the same kit i installed on my 69 should be 4 brackets 2 install left and right inside the wheel well on the flat plates and the other 2 left and right bolt up to the floor pan just in back of the rear axel. mine fit very well and was an easy install

Re: Flowmaster exhaust hangers

I had no problem mounting the hangers on the floor pan area. The problem I'm having is in the rear hangers. Do you have a picture of your install?

Re: Flowmaster exhaust hangers

Here's one of mine.

It's been a number of years since I put this system on the first time, but I do not recall the tailpipe brackets lining up with any existing holes. I recall they included self tapping screws, and the last thing you do when the system is on, tight, and aligned is drill the holes and zap in the screws.

Re: Flowmaster exhaust hangers

Thanks for the picture Jim!!!! The hangers that came in my kit look nothing like the pictured one. These are square, and the isolator mount is turned out towards the tire.

Re: Flowmaster exhaust hangers

Well I called Flowmaster today. Very, Very good technical support. I was told the bracket mounts to the frame rail just like it's suppose to and the "L" or isolator mount goes towards the tire. Hope this works.

Rubber insulators I recieved with my 17104 kit are like Jim's but without the top hanger, instructions were to drill hole into box frame and use long bolt to hang the insulator, then insulator to hanger rod on pipe.

How much room do you have between the isolator and your rims and tires?
