Manual fuel pump inlet/outlet? -- 68 Camaro

Putting a manual fuel pump back on my car. New fuel pump has two fittings both pointing forward. One fitting is fixed to the pump and appears to be for a hose. The other is threaded and requires a fitting. Which is the inlet and which is the outlet. There aren't any markings indicating which is which.

I believe the lower one is the inlet.

edit: on the Edelbrock pumps though.

I have a Holley and yes, the lower one is the inlet. The upper one is the outlet. In this case, the one closest to the block is the outlet and the farthest from the block is the inlet. Confused? sorry The lower one is furthest from the block.

The threaded one is the outlet as it is on the pressure side of the pump. The hose connection is for the supply line from the tank.

The hose fitting is the inlet from the pump and the 3/8" flare thread fitting is for the carb feed line.
