Re: 350 or 327

Need the numbers and letters (engine suffix code) that are stamped into the pad on the block just below the front of the right head.

Re: 350 or 327

I'm not sure if this is right. The code that you gave us, doesn't seem right.

MA 1967 327 manual trans. 210 2 Camaro

Nope: the 3970010 's were not made until 1969

69 Camaro -originally a LM1 car. 327, Edelbrock E-streets, hooker, DUI performance distributors, ultradyne cam, stewart, TRW etc. Vintage Air, AGR steering, Corbeau GTSII seats, 700R4 transmission, 12-bolt w/Eaton 4.11:1

Re: 350 or 327

Info for the head casting:

1968-76 3998993 350 1.72 1.5 - truck

The block sounds like an over the counter replacement 350. I seem to recall running across the MA designation before. If it was an OE engine installed in a GM vehicle, the assembly stamp would be Vxxxxyy(y) or something similar, and there would be a partial VIN either on the pad or on the flange above the oil filter.

A check of the block date code should confirm it is not a 68 327, and the casting number off the crank would confirm. The bore is the same.
