Re: Chevy Mule new engine??

I think I should of explained a little better Hemings tested several engines, all in the same car to get good comparison. They made mention of a brand new engine like a 454 but called the motor the mule anyone??

Re: Chevy Mule new engine??

Not sure if your referring to "The Mule" as in the Camaro or a "mule motor" or if there is someone building an engine and calling it the "mule".

Sometimes a dyno operator has a "mule" motor that they have around for testing products/ideas on a known engine. They refer to this motor as a "
mule".

The Camaro that is named "The Mule" is referred to in the above link a couple post's up.

Re: Chevy Mule new engine??

i know the Mule is a GREAT car and I very much respect it as such,, but imho, the greatest, even tho the Mule is a MORE POLISHED CAR, is the Gotleib Brother's 1969, "Big Red 1"!

And I might a shook hands w/ Charlie out at Larry C's P/T Dinner at Sema that year I was in Vegas but may be off here??

Re: Chevy Mule new engine??

upon closer examination I believe this to be a LSX or LS1 engine. Well what do you folks think of this swap for a 327 PG.

Re: Chevy Mule new engine??

"mule" is just a term the magazine use for thier test engine to keep things consistant. For example they will use the same sbc 383 motor when doing comparison testing on intake manifolds. Bolting one on then do dyno pulls with each to get accurate comparison results.

Do a 'search' on the forums for "LS swap " and you will find tons of info from those who have done these swaps.
