Melling cam for 305

Has anyone ever used this Melling cam in a 305? It is mtc-1
Valve Lift 420/443
Adv Duration 270/280
Duration @ .050 204/214
Lobe Centerline 112 (107/117)

That's the old generic Performer cam that several sell.

It's a very good one step up from the old stock, -929 cam spec'd at 195/202, 112/108, .390"/.410" lift.

I agree. It's a good mild performance/RV/truck cam that works well in an otherwise stock engine.

I've installed a number of them, mostly in 350's but some 305's, 283's, and other displacements. It provides a noticeable but not huge performance increase over a stock cam. Idle is just like stock in a larger engine, can be heard a little but not really felt in something small such as a 283 but can hardly be called lopey.

It is at it's best with a Q-jet or other sensible 4 barrel carb and small tube headers but will work just fine with a 2 barrel and stock exhaust manifolds.
