Re: Chevy Big and small blocks

It is simply to clarify between a small block and a short block. Some of our newer members, have never seen a big block etc. My nephew was 16 before he even knew what a V-8 was.

Re: Chevy Big and small blocks

Some nice pictures of 90* v8 chevy engines.Perhaps you could have also shown a 4 banger..inline 6..v6 for comparison. If you would like to educate youngsters on the differance between a rat and a mouse..some pictures of cyl heads showing parallel valves vs canted/splayed might help.

Good Idea. Anyone have a picture of the Iron Duke 4-banger in a 3rd gen ? How about the straight six in a first gen ? And last but not least a V-6 in a 3rd or 4th gen ? Send those to me in an email or a PM. Thanks !

Re: Chevy Big and small blocks

Thanks for posting.

Now, if i could expand upon the thread a little, could you go into detail concerning the various pontiac, and, i think, buick and olds engines; Despite having a large range of cubic inches displacments , the BOP triplets didn't really have big block vs. small block engines?

i'm a little confused by it all.
