Factory Windage Tray

Was a factory windage tray installed in 396/375 or COPO Camaro's?
Found one on my 435/427 engine and was not sure if Corvette only equipment.

Never installed in Camaro/Chevelle/Nova etc 396/375 or iron motor COPO,s but ZL1 did get them apparently, although it might have been a factory over the counter part.

Didn't most stock oil pans (even sbc low power) get some kind of screen mesh thing though?
Could this be what you are seeing?

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.

Re: Factory Windage Tray

The tray was mounted off the center cap main cap bolts toward the rear. Had interesting bolts that had extended studs included - needed a deep well socket to remove the main bolts. This was installed on an iron 512 block - was curious if it was used in any other applications. I no longer have the tray but the odd fasteners are still holding mains in place.

Re: Factory Windage Tray

What? Never installed in L78's? Huh? I've still got my original. Bolts and all. I moved them to the L88. That was 33 years ago. Could I be losing it??? One of the things the L78 was famous for was the windage tray. I remember it as always being standard equipment.
