Have oil but no pressure
I just finished putting a 383 motor that I built in my 69’ Camaro. The problem I’m having is no oil pressure and no oil getting to the gauge but I’m getting oil to the valve covers.

My first thought is the galley plug that is under the oil pressure fitting, was it removed?
Are you able to use a priming tool or old dist housing and shaft to prime? The grove on the dist body routes oil to the lifters.
Silly, but are you turning oil pump shaft in the right direction?

If you're getting oil to the valvetrain then you do indeed have oil pressure!....Your oil pressure gauge will shoot up once the engine is running!

What? I have always had good oil pressure priming an engine on my gauge.

I'm no expert here by no means but I had an oil filter cause this problem for me a couple of years ago.
