Will a truck oil pan work in a 69?

I have a 454 that I am putting in my camaro and wonder if the oil pan is going to clear.

The pan that was on my '75 454 p/u engine does. I cross referenced it in a Hollander and it's the same pan as a '69 Camaro BB.

4-quart pan.

Re: Will a truck oil pan work in a 69?

The "truck pans" I have would probably not fit in a stock Camaro subframe. It depends on the size of the sump. If it is around 11 or 12 inches front to back, it's a truck pan and holds a couple more quarts than a car pan, which would measure around 10 inches.

6 or 7-quart P/U pan no, the front sump hit's the S/F.

Re: Will a truck oil pan work in a 69?

I put a 454 truck motor in my 67 camaro and found that the front of the sump on the pan was against the drag link when I cut the wheel all the way to the left. I tried to modify the pan by heating it and trying to dimple it. I ended up pulling the engine and getting a 4 qt summit pan. It worked great. The truck pan also hung about 1" lower than the crossmember.
