Re: cam

"love the rough idle "

WHY????
all it does is screw up the low rpm responce with reversion pulses in the low rpm fuel/air distribution, the objects to make impressive power and have it instantly on tap, even comp will tell you if you can get a strait answer from the engineering dept vs the clowns on the sales desk, that they have more effective cams.

Re: cam

I'd say go to the forum search and type in "thumper cam"
This topic has been beat to death, read over the long posts and decide what you want, I really don't see a point in anyone putting in their input past this just to avoid another long drawn out thread.
Happy motoring!

Re: cam

I don't think that we are saying that the Thumpr cams run bad, b/c in a dedicated engine, one will do fine!

What I'm saying is that for the MONEY, you can buy a LOT cheaper cams that will run just as good, if not better and if you do your homework, you can have cackle too!

Look into some of the short track Crower hy- and solid lifter cams and even the lift-limited, hopped up -929 cam here! I figure their part # 00250 would be a real winner w/ stock Vortec's and no more than Z-28 springs!!

It's the short LCA deal here that create's the cackle!

You install a 106/102 or a 105/100 cam and hold on to the dash!

What's a Thumpr roller kit sell for, $600/$700 vs say like $250 for a GOOD solid or hy-cam kit and just a "C"-note for a cheap Summit house hy-cam and lifters!!!

That's all....

You got the $Bucks, buy what you want!

Personally CC's great old 282S solid lifter cam in a 10 to 1 street engine is a dandy! Note, nothing fancy at all, but it will get the job done by me.

You want bragging rights to a POWERFUL SOTA cam, then call UDHarold here..

(662) 562-4933

And ask Harold to spec. a cam for you!

And if you call Harold, please say hello from ol' pdq67 for me!

You can't go wrong w/ a UDHarold cam!! (And btw, Harold did the VooDoo line for Lunati)!!!!
