PCV leak

Has any one had trouble with the PCV line going into the carb leaking fuel/oil mixture on to the intake mainfold? Its a 69 396/375 with a Holley 850 dbl pumper on it. I have these nice little puddles on the intake bolts. I may try a clamp, but I have never had to do that before. Thanks

What kind of baffel do you have in your valve cover, needs baffel to keep from sucking oil.

Re: PCV leak

It also could be the oil seeping up the intake bolt threads or coming out from under the bolthead due to excessive crankcase pressure.

Take the bolts out one by one and clean the threads, both internal and external, with BraKleen, and seal the bolt threads with Permatex #2, Permatex Gasket Sealer A200, or Indianhead Shellac.

Re: PCV leak

i did do the intake bolts already as thats where the puddles were. when they reappeared, i notices a trail down the manifold from the carb and puuled the pcv hose which had that same oil/gas mix dripping from it. pulled the pcv out of the valve cover and it still rattled so i guess its not stuck. it just has the rubber baffle the pcv pops into.

Re: PCV leak

Rubber baffle flap may not be enough to divert the oil mist. You might have to make a baffle chamber/plate or get one from a stocker and JB Weld it into place.

even if it rattles it means nothing

i was getting a bad noise from my other car, couldnt figure out what it was, so i got my stethoscope out, and it sounded like it was comming from the pcv, i replaced it, and my noise went away

comparing the old one to the new one, they seemed 100% the same

i also went through 2 quarts of oil in 1200 miles
