Re: Moroso pan ?

I like half an inch... rotate the pickup a bit to get the clearance you need... is it a bolt on pickup or press in only (needing to be tack welded?) Either way it is no problem to move it to where you have enough room to pick up oil,

Sometimes it's better to let someone think your an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt...

Re: Moroso pan ?

You may have gotten the wrong pick-up for the pan.
Moroso pickups are bolt-on support with a press-in tube.
Is the bottom of the pan dented in? Should not be.

Re: Moroso pan ?

Check your application for the pick up tube and spot weld it on, also..does your application have the windage tray? What part no. For the oil pan and what kind of car is it?

Re: Moroso pan ?

Building a small block and I to have the same problem. My Moroso pan is right out of the box (Not bent or damaged in any way) my pickup is right out of the package-NO CLEARANCE! My pickup is a press in and bolt to the pump. I am going to CUT - ADJUST - WELD. To answer your question about a half inch. (Remember the thickness of the pan gasket) Don't ya love the quality of stuff?

Re: Moroso pan ?

If you have a high volume pump, 24170 won't work - makes it too tall.

Read here:

I believe it to be 24350 if you have a HV pump. Call Moroso and ask.

Re: Moroso pan ?

You're welcome. But I would call/ask Moroso what pickup they would recommend.
I'd also have your present measurements of both the pan and pump with & without the pickup on, and pump part numbers available also.

Some older catalogs had the heights of pickups also.
