comp cam 305h

Hey guys, i currently have a 67 camaro with a 383 engine and 10.5 cr, it has dart 215cc heads and rpm airgap intake with comp cams 280h. Im thinking of swapping to the comp 305h. It will be mainly driven on the streets and just on the weekends. it also has a th350 trans. What do yall think of this combo? Thanks

I'm sure it will scoot along with the required 3500 stall, but why not just go to 1.6 roller rockers instead with the cam you have. That would bump your lift to .512 with less hassle and less chance of leaks.

BB info but to me, it still applies to SB engines! And, imho, a 305 cam really will like about 12 to 1 CR.

I ran the 280H in my 406 for years...ran great. 12.3 @ 110

I would recommend that you check your piston to valve clearance before you take that step. Also, using just as a street ride it will suck... very low vacuum,loading up,fouling plugs, and ect. It could work...but at a cost.

305H is way too big even for a 10.5:1 383.
If you had 12:1 I would say other wise.
If you really want to switch cams that bad just throw in a 286H or a 292H
The 286H is great for street and there when you put your foot in it, and it has a desirable idle. 1.6 rockers would work well too.

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.
