Engine Storage

So, I need to get some room in my garage for a little bit here and am putting my camaro work on hold for a bit. This leads me to my question...can I put the engine back in the car without the transmission? Will it support it enough with just the engine mounts, or does it need the tranny?

Thanks All

Re: Engine Storage

Yes, it will be fine as long as you install the motor mount bolts. Take the cap off the distributor just in case it leans back a little too far, or just wedge a piece of wood between the firewall and engine.

Re: Engine Storage

if you leave the distributor in, bolt the engine in the engine mounts and support the oil pan with a couple of 2x4 stacked up.
