Help with a 305 engine

I have a 76 camaro with a 1985 carborated 305 4bbl. The engine runs great but just lacks the power I am looking for. Does anyone have any ideas on things that I can do to make this engine a little powerful other than replacing it. It came out of a 1985 pick up and is a LE9 engine. Thanks for any help.

not really...you make better selling it to buy a stock 350. Should be cheap enough. 305 was never ment to make HP bore is too small unless you want a N2o kit.

Re: Help with a 305 engine

You need to verify your rear end gearing...2.56's and 2.73's were real common during this era. Couple that with a heavy car with a small engine and you end up with a stone. If you have 3.08 or better gearing, then a mild cam really wakes those smogger 305's up. The factory cam in those things was TINY.
