header issues

I installed brand new gaskets (Copper) with my headers,...the bolts are as tight as humanly possible, yet they are still leaking...

any suggestions on gaskets to use with Dart Iron Eagle heads?

Re: header issues

Sure it is gaskets and the header plate is not waped or twisted?

Re: header issues

I've used copper before, and usually spray it with Permatex Copper Coat (same as the VHT that Steve pointed out) or, I use Percy's Aluminum gaskets. They work like a champ. Make sure the header flange is flat though because that is the most likely culprit.

Re: header issues

Get rid of the copper header gaskets. Get a set of Remflex gaskets and even if the flanges are a bit warped they will seal.

Re: header issues

Just reading up on the remflex...I had never heard of them before--anyone else use them?

Re: header issues

On The Heap the drivers side header is horrible to seal-the remflex gaskets sealed it up perfectly-THEY ARE THE CURE

Re: header issues

I've use the Remflex gaskets once, and they are bitchin' beyond belief. No argument there. They aren't cheap, but you'll never need another set.

Re: header issues

I was in Southern CA last week and went into a Pep Boys and saw they had aluminum header gaskets for about $53. Don't know who made them but anybody ever try them?
