Oil Loss

I've had to add 2 plus quarts of oil in a new motor (383) with less than 250 miles. It's not showing up on the floor; the plugs aren't oilly, nor is it smoking, where could it be going?

Thanks for the help

Re: Oil Loss

2 qt's of oil missing in 250miles is a lot. It should be noticeable out the pipes and foul plugs on any engine whether it is old or a new rebuild. As it is a new rebuild I would suspect a broken ring or possible intake vacuum leak. Do you have a working PCV System?

Re: Oil Loss

The PCV appears to be working, the line ins't clogged or oily. I am at a loss that's for sure.

Re: Oil Loss

If it's not on the ground, then it has to be going out the tail pipe. End of story. Are you sure it was full before you started to put mileage on the car?
