Getting the right date coded items

Hey guys,

I'm gathering parts for my resto and I've got a part dating question. My car was built in the last week of May in '67. I'm having some difficulty understanding the date decoding of parts.

I've learned there's a difference between stamped parts and cast parts in how they decode, but that doesn't apply to my car anyway. What I need to still get is a properly dated alternator, distributor and a pair of rear axle spring plates.

Thanks again,

Re: Getting the right date coded items

We'll need to know what options your car had originally. Depending on what package the car had originally will determine what alternator, distributor, and possibly what shcok platyes it had.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
