"HELP" Fuel gauge reads over the full mark

Just installed a new Spectra premium and just put 13 gallons in the fuel tank on top of the 2 galons I put in yesterday. The fuel gauge in the car is reading about a 1/4 inch over the full mark, is this normal for these cars? Its been a long time since I had a working fuel gauge in this car so I don't remember if this is working correctly.

New vehicles do it too.

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.
