Priming Motor using Drill

I am using an old distibutor shaft (without the gear) to prime a new motor. I am spinning the drill clockwise at I am guessing 1000 RPM.

There is only a small bit of oil at on rocker. What should I expect to see. Seems like I did this before and seen much more oil at the heads.

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks Again

Re: Priming Motor using Drill

You need to stay at it longer and rotate the crankshaft 90 degrees by hand several times for a full burp.Patience will prevail.

That sounds great just to see the oil at the rockers, sometimes you have to bump the motor over a little. But thats all you need or it could just be thick oil.

Both you guys are right. I kept priming and now see oil dripping off all springs. 0-900 RPM drill. I thing I feel better now!
