427 tall deck in 67 camaro

Hello everyone, I am new to the fourm but have already read and learned more on this site in the first day than on others in weeks. I am currently in the middle of a 67 full resto project. Toying with the idea of using a built 427 tall deck in the car. We built this engine for a 4x4 truck but have went other ways with that project. Will the tall deck fit in the first gen body? Would I need a cowl induction hood or some other type of scoop hood? Would the wiper motor and brake booster still fit on the firewall? Just wondering if anyone has ever done this before. All comments are appreciated.

The tall deck should fit with no problems. I'd say whether you have to run a cowl hood or not would depend on what intake, spacer if you run one, and air filter you use. Not sure about the wiper assembly, but I know DSE makes one that is smaller for more room just in case. I'm also going with a 427 bbc in my 67 camaro that I'm building now.

It could be a problem to fit headers with the taller deck. (The collector may contact the floor). As all ready said the valve cover may contact the brake booster. Hood clearance may also be an issue.

If it was originally a sbc car, you need a different wiper motor, along with other psrts, eng mounts, trans cross member, bbc heater core.
Header fitment can be an issue with tall decks, they require a different distributor, and intake as I'm sure you already know.
Hood clearance is determined by what intake you go with, carb, and filter.
