1969 Camaro console oil gauge trouble

My oil gauge on my 69 console cluster stays pegged at 80 all the time. I am hoping someone can give me advice. Or is this normal. It seems like it should go down when I shut the car off.
Thank Mark

If it stays on 80 all the time, even with the engine off, you need to replace the gauge.

You can take the lense cover off and either see if the cover is sticking the oil needle or maybe see if you can put it back to "O"( with the engine off of course)

If the gauge is original, it would be worth it to have it repaired.
