Re: Small block weight

So, an Aftermarket aluminum block build would weigh in only about 60 lbs less than an iron block build?

Smile Re: Small block weight

Here are some engine weights that I found on the web. I don't know how accurate they are.

Newstar = 300
ecotec = 310
Shorstar = 325
northstar v8 = 413
Ls1 = 425
lq9(6.0) = 470
chevy 4.3 - 425
Chevy 350 = 500-575
chevy 454 = 675

69 Camaro -originally a LM1 car. 327, Edelbrock E-streets, hooker, DUI performance distributors, ultradyne cam, stewart, TRW etc. Vintage Air, AGR steering, Corbeau GTSII seats, 700R4 transmission, 12-bolt w/Eaton 4.11:1

Re: Small block weight

Those weights are for a complete engine, not a bare block.

Red face Re: Small block weight

Yes, you are right. There was another post where they were looking for complete engine weight. Sorry.
