Bracket Question

I am planning to install a Vintage Air system in my 68 this spring but have a question and would like some feedback. I have a 010 350 block with the alternator on the passenger side. Should I, or can I relocate it to the drivers side by going out and buying the 68 brackets? Has anybody done anything similar that can enlighten me on the best way to move forward?

Thanks

Steve

Smile Re: Bracket Question

You must want to hide your A/C lines and don't want the cooling lines to show. I would NOT use the stock 67/68 brackets that are for a short water pump. I would use an Alan Grove bracket that will move the alternator to the driver's side and still be a long water pump bracket. You will have to make sure your compressor bracket is also for a long water pump on the passenger side. Vintage air does use Alan Grove brackets. Moving the alternator will require some electrical wiring changes.

Re: Bracket Question

Well I am gong to have to buy a new 3 grove crank pully and 2 groove water pump pully and last summer I bought new March V-belt setup so I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and buy a serpentine setup that would have everything.
