How many times do you change your wheels before you put new studs in the hub? there's no reason to buy new head bolts unless there's an obvious problem with the bolt in my opinion. it's good to be cautious but sometimes it just doesn't make sense.

X's 2 for Iron Heads - Just Re-Torque after about an hour of run time on a re-build and if it don't, reach into your Stock Bin, ensure threads are clean and past with RTF or Permatex with lube under the head and use it; I recommend Studs with Alu-Heads.

NEVER, the stock SBC / BBC head bolts can be reused quite a lot, The block will be worn out before the head bolts are.
