Head intake runner

what volume should I be looking for on the intake runners for a SBC? I am looking at some AFR heads and they range from 165 to 220cc?? I want to get the most HP I can get with a max 10:1 compression?? I have a stock crate 350 and want to bolt on some HP but the heads are kinda complicated... I want a hyd cam and lifters, trying to keep it streetable and fairly low maint.... I am seeing 180cc and 220cc any suggestions?

Re: Head intake runner

Here's some info from people who make heads. http://www.dartheads.com/customer_se...view.php?qk=34

It all depends on what you plan to do with it. With a stock crate 350 and a mild hyd. cam I'd stick with 170-180cc. If you plan on going wilder later on you could go bigger, but your streetability would suffer in the meantime.

Bigger isn't always better.
