camshft opinion

I need some input on what cam to get and i m hoping that i can get some ideas here. The engine is a 454, oval port heads, performer intake, I don't know the compression. trans is a 4spd, also i am not sure what gear it has, but i am changing that anyway. What i want is something that sounds a little lumpy and makes good power. The car gets driven around town and some freeway driving. I am looking to get opinions on what you guy's have used and how you liked it. Thanks for the input.

You need to give more info then you gave for advice.......what gear are you going to put in,heads, intake and you really need to find the compression ratio. Then you'll get more info then you can digest...there are some very experienced people on this forum

Re: camshft opinion

Kelly..any clue as to what this 454 came out of?Do you know its history?
Casting #,s off the block and heads might help us determine the static cr if she is still oem specced. If its been apart in the past..then all bets are off.Could be .030" to .0100" overbore with god only knows what rebuilder piston.Muster up all you know..more is better and post back.
