Goint to change oil today

My car has been sitting since the winter came in. I am going to change the oil today to prepare for spring. Should I warm the car up before changing the oil or change it cold?

I would warm it up good so any contaminents get suspended in the oil.

Should you first take it for a 15 to 20 minute drive to suspend all the contaminants and burn off any moisture in the crankcase?

The hotter the better ALWAYS! Even on my work truck I drive it 30 miles to work and then drop the oil as soon as I get there.

Re: Goint to change oil today

A better plan for next year is to change it (hot) a day or so before you put it up for the winter, so all the oil is fresh and clean during its winter "sleep", with no blow-by contaminants, condensate moisture, etc.
