Motor Mounts

I need to order motor mounts for a big block (454). What is
recommended? Should I go with the solid or poly type? I was going to order from Jegs.

also, what size? they come in "short & narrow" or "tall and wide"?

Thanks again,

John

I would recommend the poly. Energy suspension engine mounts are recommended. If you are switching from a small block New frame mounts are also needed for a Big Block. The '67-'68 used the short and wide engine mounts. The 1969 used the tall and narrow engine mounts. Make sure you also use a big block transmission crossmember and a big block z-bar if it is a stick shift.

Re: Motor Mounts

I have a 68 with a 454 I HIGHLY recomend the short wide poly mounts. Changing the frame mounts is not easy but necessary. My set up works great now only problem is if you want headers you will have space issues against your power steering. I recomend the block hugger style headers they work great!!

There is not a short and narrow engine mount.

Engine mounts are : short and wide OR tall and narrow.

For a 454 big Block in a : 67 and 68 use the short and wide. 69 uses the tall and narrow
