Head bolt sealant

I am reinstalling the stock heads on my 69 302. Are there certain head bolts that require sealant or should it be used on all of them?

Thanks,
Chris

Re: head bolt sealant

I put it on all of them - don't remember any holes being blind ones but could be wrong. Don't forget to put some sealant on your intake bolts that are through bolts to the lifter valley to prevent oil weeping back up onto your intake.

Thumbs up Re: head bolt sealant

All SBC head bolts should have sealant on them to prevent any leakage problems
The upper/inner ones keep water/coolant from getting into oil, the outer/lower short bolts just prevents any PITA seapage from occuring.
