Alt Bracket Set Up for BBC

Help!!! Hope this is the correct forum.

I am having trouble setting up my alt bracket for my BBC, short water pump, driver side mount. I ordered the correct bracket for a 68 bbc with a short wp. This issue is the top bracket needs to mount into the intake and I don't have a spot to attach (new Weiland Stealth intake).

My question is, where can I get the correct bracket for this set up? I looked at March but most are all for a long water pump. I want to make it look as original as possible. any suggestions????

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
John

Thats a bit hard to use a bracket that is intended for a stock intake. Yours not being stock.

same thing Original parts could use the bracket you ordered. You will need to relocate your brackets or Fab up something different all together, due to the fact of the intake change.

Here is one close to what your looking for? Maybe?

As Bill has mentioned the possible use of Zoops brackets.
thanks Bill

Nice engine! What about the lower bracker, is that the stock one?

Thanks again for your help!

John, yes stock GM lower bracket. I haven't found an aftermarket one any better.

Don, That's fine with me, I just want to mount my alt and still keep that original look.

I also see you have the same pulleys as me, however my water pump and crank pulley's do not line up. I have a short water pump, one groove pulley's on both wp and crank (looks exactly like yours) but they don't line up. Might sound like a dumb question but do your pulley's line up exactly? don't know why mine are off. might need to go with a double groove crank pulley.

Thanks again

Re: Alt Bracket Set Up for BBC

They didn't line up at first try, I had to use shims on the crank pulley. Summit carries shims (Moroso) for both the WP and crank pulley.

Then the alternator needed a washer to line up, between the bracket and the alt.

My crank is off by a 1/2 inch. Looks like a double groove crank pulley would do the trick. Will also order extra shims just in case.
Would you happen to have any other pics of your engine set up? I would love to reference your engine bay, looks like the same set up as mine. I just can't wait to be done with this project and just drive the car, ha ha.

Thank you again.
John
