Throttle cable for 69 Camaro w/Hollley 4150

Anyone know what setup is required when running a Holley, or Quickfuel which is what I have, carb to hook-up the throttle? I have a rod currently for a quadrajet setup and now I think I need a cable setup to get full throttle. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Greg-

Your current throttle rod may work, but you may have to change the length. Is the rod adjustable? Some are threaded so you can adjust.

Is this a big block car or small block?

Here is a universal rod.

I currently have an adjustable rod end rod but it will not allow full throttle.

Install to a lower hole on your carb. Will give more angle

Throttle cable for 69 Camaro w/Hollley 4150

Here are some pics of the throttle rod and linkage, it is on a Big Block. I moved down just below the large hole and that helps where I think it will get pretty close to full throttle. Any more ideas would be appreciated. I hate to buy a cable setup and add more cost!

Re: Default Throttle cable for 69 Camaro w/Hollley 4150

I went 'round & 'round trying to get full throttle out of my rod set-up with a Holley. (originally a 2-jet) My problem was that the pedal would hit the floor - with the linkage correctly adjusted - before getting WOT. There was plenty of swing left in the arm under the hood with the pedal matted, it was just the floor getting in the way of the pedal. So I removed the pedal rod thing (the one that actually has the pedal hooked to it and goes into the firewall bracket), put in a bench vise, heated it with a mapp torch and bent it so that the pedal was a little higher off the floor. This solved my problem. I also made my own throttle rod to the carb, similar to the Jegs one linked above.

That is a good idea, that's what I'll do is heat up the pedal bar and that should give me enough to get full throttle. I am close now to getting it wide open!

I don't think I would run the throttle rod in the hole you have shown in the picture, but that is just me. Can you take a picture with a slightly wider angle showing the whole setup from carb to the throttle arm? I can't tell what is all going on and I can't figure out what that bracket is.

This is what an original throttle rod looks like for use with a big block.

See image attached for where to put the rod.
