Cool Prosystem SV1 and Air gap

I am considering a Prosystem SV1 carb (dominator style) on top of my Air gap intake. It doesn't appear anyone makes a filter/ 14" drop base set up for a Dominator to fit my 2" cowl hood. I found a Wix racing filter that is 12.25 id which ...jusssst might get around the carb.I'm considering fabbing my own base. Think I have any chance of getting the linkage and filter to fit??????
It is a pricey gamble.
Any ideas how I can make this work?.......Anybody interested in a SV1 if I can't!!

Re: Prosystem SV1 and Air gap

That might be the least of your worries. Will a Dominator mount on a standard square bore intake without an adapter?

K&N makes a 16" drop base assembly for the Dominator. I don't know the dimensions on the cowl cutout though.

Re: Prosystem SV1 and Air gap

The SV1 has both 4150 and 4500 mounting. I can only use a 14" filter assembly to fit in the cowl but it has to drop to fit. I'll give up if I have to cut the hood.

Re: Prosystem SV1 and Air gap

Anyone with a custom filter set up that might work?
Any ideas would be appreciated. One way or another I will make this work.
