Running like crap.

1967 Camaro with a Small block 350 out of a 91 Chevy truck. Mild cam and HMI converted.

My car has been totally out of commission for a couple of weeks now and I plan to tear into it but I was wanting to throw out a few symptoms to see what everyone thought.

Missing badly while driving and at a stand still in drive. Runs ok when in park.

Half the header pipes don't get very hot. When half are at 450 the other half barely hit 120-150. This is after running for several minutes.

Changed out the plugs, wires, ran with a different carb, adjusted valves, set difference.

Found a broken rocker arm but after I changed, it made no difference.

Symptoms started immediately while sitting at a stop light. Got on it a little bit about 3 minutes before but ran fine after until I was sitting at the light.

Vacuum on intake 10 inches.

Compression test showed 150 on all cyc except the number 7 which was the one that had the broken rocker arm.

Re: Running like crap.

vacuum leak of some type. Mild cam should still be pulling 14-16hg vacuum or there abouts. Have you found any oil leaks? white froth on dipstick? oil in coolant? Start it up and spray starter fluid around intake and see if she revs and evens out. If so, intake leak. If power brakes do same at hose attatchment at powerbooster to see if it's leaking. Then shut off and check dipstick and radiator for traces of water/oil respectively. If so, then blown head gasket.
