What brand harmonic balancer for 406?

I am building a 406 for my car. It is internally balanced. What brand balancer should I buy? I don't want to spend the money for a Fluidamper if I don't need to but don't want to have a failure like Doug did. I want an SFI approved balancer.

Thanks for any advice.

Matt

Summit's own brand Balancers are on sale. Last I looked anyway. They are good quality and made in Austrailia. PowerBond is another good one. Stay away from Jegs' own brand, made in China. Dorman is also crap.

BHJ . Unless you want to go Romac, which in my opinion is not essential, when you have BHJ.

Ron,

Sorry but can you tell me that in English. I have no idea what you are talking about. What is BHJ?

BHJ is a brand. You don't really need a high dollar damper to get the job done. ATI is also another quality brand. There are several out there that are good.

My opinion ATI is the best balancer, and BHJ is good as well. But like Royce points out you don't need a high dollar damper necessarily, unless you are turning a bunch of rpms.
I bought a Pioneer Sfi balancer and it was a real nice piece and very reasonable. If you plan to keep the rpms under 6500 or so I would go that route myself.
