1969 Camaro SS air cleaner id ...

Still looking for a chrome air cleaner lid if anyone has an extra, OR, I understand the Corvette 1970-1972 (?), may use the same type lid, can anyone help with this fact (or fiction) ... Then again a supplier too ...

And then I began to have a new thought about my air cleaner, what about a dual snorkle off of one of those Corvettes, anyone know if a particular year would match up nicely ? ... I am thinking of running some cold air ducts towards the front of the car ... Just a thought now ...

The 70-72 corvette is different. If we are talking about the stock air cleaner, it was a single snorkel. All closed type air cleaners 69-79?? had the same style lid. If you can find a painted one and have it chromed, that may be an easier resolution to finding one.

This is the correct style lid. The repop lids are flat on top. You could take one like this and get it chromed, providing its not pitted.
There are a bunch of air cleaners on ebay with the correct painted style lid.

Really it doesn't mean nothing to me as you can fabricate ONE from a Garbage Can Tin Lid and make it Functional. Check the forum "Classifieds" who sell claimed Originals.

This Garbage Can will hit 7000rpm 625Hp 454 Back Draft 2" LT1 Scoop on a 70Z:
Have some imagination and design it yourself - After All - Why do you think GM Built the Camaro ;o)

Closet PIC Re: A LT1 2" scoop I can find at the moment of my ride but you will find me mounting a Breganze Laverda 750 SF:

Just Bolt the Fiber-Scoop on with a Rubber Bearer: "HIC !".

Re: 1969 Camaro SS air cleaner id ...

Okay, I had the lid chromed for my 1969 SS 350 ... While I was at it, I had another lid chromed as well ... I have two air cleaners (bases) which have been media blasted and powder coated and two lids which have been chromed as well ... I will be keeping one for my car and I have one for sale for the lucky FIRST person to contact me about it and pull out their wallet (209) 533-4847 ... Kevin (kmg1969ss)
