Nitrous??

Well a buddy of mine offered me his nitrous setup..it's a wet setup with the carb plate... Question if I were to take him up on it....can I supply the fuel for the wet side by teeing off the mechanical pump.. Or would I have to run an electric pump..

My buddy ran it by just teeing off his stock mechanical pump...said it always worked fine for him.. On a 100 shot..

Thoughts opinions

Re: Nitrous??

You have cast pistons so it's quite a risk.

Are there jets to reduce the amount of nitrous ? Maybe a 50hp shot would be ok.

Re: Nitrous??

Thanks Beth..I guess with the plate setup 100 shot is about a 50 shot... I called zex asked them why nothing smaller and the guy explained to me that it isn't a very efficient way of introducing nitrous... So I would be lucky to get 50 out of it...

Thoughts about feeding the wet side through the mechanical pump....tech said it could work but the mechanical pump fail more often than electrical pumps??

This will be more for show...with maybe an occasional romp..
I know cast pistons don't like nitrous....

Re: Nitrous??

well--again my opinion and have run nos on almost everything --always run seperate pump for fuel--and the proper way is to put a control kill switch before the solenoid(they are cheap and can get them from jegs or summit)--WHEN the fuel drops below 5 pounds it cuts out nos is the way i would wire it-i run regulator too set at 5.5 - 6 lbs-nock your timing back when you use it or install a 2 step-fuel pressure to carb 7lbs and if you double protection install control switch on there too but i dont--100 shot will be fine if u do all this in my opinion
