Re: Need Help Identifying this 350

those numbers don't mean a thing if it's been rebuilt somewhere along the line..

Thanks I don't think it has been rebuilt, it looks as if V0719TFX means; V- built in Flint, 07-July, 19-day, TFX truck C30-2500. which now I have a start. Now since I am working with a truck engine with little HP, can I put that into a car- my thoughts are another 1st Gen camaro or 79- 81 camaro.

Re: Need Help Identifying this 350

I have the same thing in my car, but I changed the heads and it's been worked over a little bit. Nothing special. The only difference from a car 350 is the 4-bolt mains... which means nothing. Truck engines were built with low-end torque in mind, not HP (or speed).
I have no idea what the HP is now. It roasts the BF Goodriches with an automatic so I'm happy.
