Gen VI 454HO valve guide seals

Just want to get the pro's take on this issue I am having with this engine. I am trying to find out if there are any positive valve seals that will work with the stock dual springs where I do not need to remove the heads and have the guides machined? I have checked everywhere and cannot seem to get the answer. I called GMPP and one guy told me they have a update in 2013 that corrected this with positive seals and the guides did not need to be machined, a different tech at GMPP told me I did need to machine the guides.

Just want to know if anyone else has this same engine and if you addressed this issue.

Thanks

Vince,

Are you implying that GM crate engines might burn oil ??

.....and the ZZ502's.

Ask me how I know.

The cylinders looked like a tool broke during machining, and the rings are JUNK.

It's a disgrace!

I've heard they don't use torque plates.

Oil burning is a common problem with GM crate engines.

Re: Gen VI 454HO valve guide seals

Yes some oil goes missing but for as much as I drive the car its not a huge issue. Just want to try to fix the easy stuff first and see if it helps. Anyone know if there are positive valve seals in which the head does not need machining?
