383 stroker or 350 with top end kit?
Looking for some opinions on the following two choices that I am faced with.
I have a sound 350 sbc with four bolt mains and, perhaps, a forged crank. The engine has a mild flat tappet hydraulic cam.
I am looking for 430 HP and 425 Ft Lbs torque, running a mild roller cam and a 4 barrel carb.
I can rebuild the lower end of my 350 and change the heads, cam, intake carb, and distributoror. Although more expensive, I could stroke my 350 out to 383 and install the above parts, plus the stroker kit.
In your opinion, which engine would be the most fun for a street driven 1969 Camaro, with a built 200 4R transmission and 3.73 posi 12 bolt rear end? I am thinking about such things as idle quality, flatest torque curve, idle vacuum for power brakes, lowest maintenance, best resale ( everything is sold, sooner or later)?
