SB re-pop air cleaner vs. original

I've been running an original style re-pop 4 barrel air cleaner ($130 +/-) on my restoration project for the past four years. It looks good, but fits lousy. From the onset, the base plate throttle arm of the Quadrajet (7027202, October '66) would only operate at 1/4" travel with the air cleaner installed. I used a 1/2" aluminum spacer between the air horn flange and the air cleaner to get full travel of the throttle arm.

I recently found and purchased an original '67 Quadrajet Camaro air cleaner. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN FIT AND FUNCTION. Say good-bye to the 1/2" spacer. There is more than ample room for the throttle arm of the carb. Just thought you might want to know.
