Drive by wire help

We just finished putting in a 5.3 out of a tahoe into my 67. It is drive by wire. We have the pedal assembly but it is way to big to mount up. I need help with figuring out what can be done to maintain the drive by wire set up. From what I've read, pedal has to match the computer. I called lokar and they said theirs is set up for 2007 cadillac cts and won't work for me. Don't really know what to do now and could really use so help. If I convert to drive by cable it's about 400 for the throttle body and then I don't know if it will work with the computer. Please advise. Thanks andy

Re: Drive by wire help

Is the pedal assembly you have spring loaded to where if it is depressed and then released it returns to the idle spot ?.

If so I wonder if you could run a cable off of an original gas pedal to run to the new pedal mounted in a spot with more room ?. I did a customer's 55 Chevy with an aftermarket cruise and after welding some brackets on the original gas pedal we were able to hook up the interior mounted cruise control to it and not have it underhood or directly connected to the carb.
