Question ZZ4 question

Buddy just got a deal on a ZZ4 motor that needs rebuilt. Its at the machine shop and been honed, cleaned, ETC....just a bare block right now and the guy has the rest of it in his garage (crank, rods, everything).
Now my buddy had a 383 with a forged rotating assembly and forged pistons along with Vortec heads which had a lot of work done to them. (cracked block and wiped cam)

Problem is...
What parts will fit from his ? (forged crank is a 2 piece seal and the ZZ4 uses a 1 piece)
I'm not up on the ZZ4 interchange-ability.

What you say guys ?

Doug, he could use his crank with an adapter.

It use roller lifters of course, I'm pretty sure he could retrofit a flat tappet as I recall.

Everything else should work including the boss for a mechanical fuel pump if needed.

Of course he needs to check for stroker crank throw clearance.

Thanks.
We're looking to see if the cost is worth the effort.
Keeping it a roller since he had wiped the cam in this one (HFT cam 383) and the price is right for the ZZ4.
Now, looking at a cam....stock is
I'm looking at this one X4280HR since he has 4.10's and my old 3500stall. Even though it says 4x4 cam...it should have some really good low end grunt rpm range 1800 to 5800. (and his heads are only good to 500 lift too.)

I forgot to mention the ZZ block does not have the coolant bypass hole in the front of the block under the water pump drilled all the way through. It could be drilled, if not he will have to use a bypass hose from the intake to the water pump, or a normally open heater core.

It will overheat, ask me how I know.

One last thing, the timing chain set is different because of the cam retainer plate, or you could use a standard roller cam button and timing cover.
